Summer is the best time to get out of the house and have some fun! Here are our recommendations for some outdoor summer activities in the Sour Lake, Texas area.
Fourth of July Celebrations
Nothing says summer more than celebrating Independence Day with big fireworks and delicious food. Events like the Texas Bud Heat Wave 5 Mile Run and the Beaumont Fourth of July Celebration give you the opportunity to get outside, get active, or just kick back and enjoy some freedom.
If you want something you can do any day of the week, Sour Lake offers plenty of nearby opportunities for outdoor recreation. Go hiking or fishing at Village Creek State Park or any of the many parks and local nature preserves in the area. Campsites are everywhere, whether you want to use a tent, RV, or cabin. You can even head to Coastal Paddler for a day out in a canoe or kayak.
Whether you have a Chevy truck that can go off-road, an ATV, or a dirt bike, Sour Lake is located near a number of off-roading parks, especially once you get closer to the Houston area. Be sure to stick to the park rules and stay safe!
