Sour Lake Chevrolet is proud to call Sour Lake home. The city is special because of its diverse residents, its proud history, and the delicious food available at a wide range of restaurants. If you and your family are looking for some tasty takeout food, we recommend you check out these Sour Lake staples:
Goodfella’s Restaurant and Pizzeria
Goodfella’s has what many Sour Lake residents would call the best pizza in town. They don’t limit themselves to traditional pies; we’re fond of the Hot Stuff Pizza, Burrito Pizza, and cherry streusel-topped dessert pizza on a butter crust. If pizza isn’t your thing, try the New Orleans-style muffaletta sandwiches.
Goodie’s Cafe and Catering
Goodie’s has been supplying Southeast Texas with its delicious combination of lunch, dinner, desserts, and catering for a decade. Build your own burger, get a lunch special for under $10, or try the famous smothered pork chops. You can never go wrong with the peach bundt cake, the blueberry cheesecake cups, or the sweet potato pie.
Vautrot’s Cajun Cuisine
If you’re partial to the strong flavors of Cajun food, order takeout from Vautrot’s. The boudin balls alone are reason to come, but the fried chicken toes and Martha’s award-winning crawfish etouffee will turn Vautrot’s into one of your regular takeout joints.
If you’re looking for something fun to do with the whole family, why not come to the City of Beaumont’s annual Fourth of July Celebration? It’s the 33rd year in a row the Event Centre in Beaumont has brought this event to the city. While the fireworks will, of course, take center stage, there is plenty more for everyone to do for an evening of fun and festivities.
When and Where?
On July 4, the celebration starts at 5:00 PM at the Downtown Event Centre Lake. The Symphony of Southeast Texas will begin playing at 8:00 PM, followed by the fireworks show shortly after at 9:00 PM.
What Will Be There?
Besides fireworks, there will be tons of activities. Visitors will have access to local food trucks if they get hungry, live music performances, and a Budweiser beer garden. If you’re looking for kid-friendly fun, the Rotary Centennial Playground is also available for little ones to play on.
What Can I Bring?
As a free event, guests only need to bring enough money for food and beverages. Aside from that, you can bring blankets, lawn chairs, and coolers. No outside alcohol is permitted, but snacks and non-alcoholic drinks are.
